Women's Health Tanzania Trip

Hey everyone!
So most of you probably know about the incredible journey I've been on professionally and personally, into the study of natural healing and women's health. I am currently working in Asheville NC, as a massage therapist at a Chinese Medical Clinic, and this September I just finished my DONA Doula training to offer labor support for all women. The need for women's health advocates, like Doulas run both deep and wide, here at home and developing countries. My heart truly burns to empower women of all nations, giving them evidence based information, emotional and physical support, and being an advocate for them and their babies.
To help better serve women in this way, I plan to participate in a two week volunteer internship on a labor and delivery unit of a public hospital, in Tanzania. This internship will grant me the opportunity to observe and assist in more births in a two week time frame, than I may see in two years here at home.
There I will be helping the midwives and health care staff, to provide better care for women in Tanzania. The infant and maternal death rates in Tanzania, rank among the highest in the world. Lack of technology, resources, transport, family planning, and modern medical education are all aspects that contribute to this problem.
My husband and I are using our savings to cover as much of the cost of the trip as we can, however I wanted to reach out to family and friends to help raise the remainder of the support.
The thing is I am planning to leave for Tanzania by mid January!! It's a push, which is why I need you guys. If you would like to partner with me in advocating for women's health, just follow the donate link. So much love to everyone out there!
