Women Empowerment in Cambodia

I was conditioned since young that success was defined by monetary value or fame. As much I disagreed, it was deep rooted.  I’ve always wanted to give back, and I’m an avocate for social and environmental justice. I feel like during my grind, I lost my purpose. I got so inwardly focused and busy that I never had time to volunteer or do charity work. 

A health scare recently made me realised, the time to do something is now!

I will be travelling to Cambodia around March 2020 for a month to kickstart this change. I want to change the lives of the women there, break the cycle of poverty and allow families to realise their dreams. 

There is a wonderful foundation called Treak Community  Centre in Siem Reap, doing wonderful work with currently providing free education to children. https://treakcommunitycentre.org/ 

They have recently opened up a women’s education program. And the aim is to teach them skills to help generate income and gain fair employment.

I will be using my experience in fashion business to help Treak Community Centre set up this program. Anything I can do to support, from teaching women skills in sewing to small business management. The skills these women will learn is invaluable to them, help them earn a secure income and the ability to send their children to school. A flow on effect that will change not only a woman's life, but her whole family. 

This Christmas, I ask my family and friends who are planning on gifting me anything to instead use the money to help me with this cause. And those who are just in the spirit of giving, to spare even just a dollar to help. 

I am so grateful for the abundance I have in my life. Thank you in advance for the support and lots of love.
