www.wohad.org Women of Honor & Destiny, TLC, Inc. (WOHAD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness and ensuring successful reentry into the community for women involved in the justice system.
Across the country over 230,000 women are detained in local, state, federal, immigration or youth facilities. Over 101,000 are sitting in local jails. 60% of those have not even been convicted. Of the 99,000 women who have been convicted, 70% of them committed non-violent offenses.
The trauma endured by these women can be debilitating. Many have experienced domestic abuse, drug addiction and homelessness before their confinement. Then they suffer through the harrowing experience of detention in the justice system.
WOHAD seeks to assist these women by providing transitional housing, trauma counseling, job and career counseling, parenting classes, and many other services to help them become successful.
While we have begun providing some outreach services, we need a facility to provide transitional housing and other services. Your donation will be used to obtain a property and furnishings.
