My stepdad Chuck LOVES slot car racing. The picture you see is his winning slot car, and, as you can see, he is Batman!! A few months ago, Chuck began feeling tired and just out of sorts. His health has declined since, and on Christmas Eve, my mom had to have him picked up by an ambulance and taken to the hospital. The most recent news we have is that he has cancer in his brain, liver, kidney, and lung, as well as fluid on his lung and swelling in his brain. My mom, being the tough, stubborn woman she is has tried to handle everything on her own, but the truth of it is that the medical bills are being written and the bills at home don't stop when someone ends up in the hospital. Our family is prideful and we often try not to ask others for help if we believe we can do things on our own, but this is more than we can handle. Any and all proceeds will go to my mom, Susan, and stepdad Chuck to pay for medical needs and to keep their bills paid as they navigate the rocky terrain that is radiation and cancer treatment.
