WISH FOR WHEELS- LEAGUE OF BROTHERS

Tax deductible
Hi!  We are a men's forum, composed of 7 individuals called 'THE LEAGUE OF BROTHERS,' and our organization believes in 3 core beliefs:  1) to work on one's self, 2) elevate family (and friends), and 3) strengthen the community.

This time last year, you helped the THE LEAGUE OF BROTHERS raise $10,000 and donated 100 BIKES to Kindergarteners and 1st graders of two public schools in Denver.  Good job, you!  Not only were the schools at risk of being shut down, but the families of the enrolled were also struggling on a average annual household income of $30k or less.

I'm happy to say, that together, not only are the two schools still open and running strong, but you can see from this video that WE made a BIG DIFFERENCE in the lives of these 100 kids, their families and the community!

WELL...WE WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!  and we found a very special cause for us this year...

Nearly ONE-QUARTER of Denver's children are living in poverty.  In addition, these students are oftentimes neglected, delinquent, living in foster homes, and are receiving temporary assistance from state governments.   To qualify as a Title 1 school, 70% or more of the students must be in low income housing...

Swansea Elementary is experiencing 3 very unique challenges right now:
  - 99% of their students are Title 1.
  - The average family household income is only $16k!
  - and the I-70 corridor project is threatening the survival of the school

As we head into November and the holidays, and as we witness all the tragedy that's happening in the world right now, we want to team up with you to take a brief moment to put a smile on some struggling faces and punch-back with some GOOD energy in the world.

Can you picture your very first bike?...That experience was pretty memorable, right?!  A bike is oftentimes a kid's first experience of independence, freedom and being active...not to mention gaining the self-confidence that comes from learning to do something that's challenging and a little scary.  Receiving a bike also tells a kid that someone cares about them- which is pretty big deal to these struggling kids.  Biking has also been a special bonding experience for our men's group and would love to share this amazing activity with these kids!

Every $100 that we raise gives a family/child a newly assembled bike, fitted helmet, a riding lesson and a bicycle safety session.
So, as we asked last year, if you can take a moment to spare the equivalent of going out to eat one night, a few drinks, or maybe even sell something on FacebookMarketplace that's been in storage that you haven't used for a while...We know your gift will create a lifelong memory for a child that's not in a place to have this important moment that every child should experience.

And for your gracious donations, we'll soon be posting some awesome prizes that we'll be randomly giving away for donations at the $50, $100 and $200+ levels!

So, MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The bikes will be assembled and presented to the kids & families on:

       Wednesday, November 15th, 2017.
       Swansea Elementary
4650 Columbine St, Denver, CO 80216

We'll be sure to keep you updated with the time, so you can join us in the assembly and activities!

Thank you very much for your generosity and sharing something so much more than a bike.
We (and the kids) can't thank you enough!

Sincerely,
-The League of Brothers, Denver
