Second Winter Warmth Drive
The Oobah Project along with Imam Taha Hamid proudly presents its second Winter Warmth Drive for Afghanistan. The cold weather has arrived and the impoverished people of Afghanistan don't have the means to get through the bitter winters. Orphanages in Kabul do not have heat or adequate blankets to keep the orphans warm. As a result, young children are exposed to severely cold temperatures and inevitably suffer from hypothermia, frostbite, gangrene, and eventually death. Last year Afghanistan, a landlocked and mountainous country, suffered its coldest winter in 15 years. According to a French aid agency, the disaster was more extensive than originally thought, with at least 100 young children claimed by the cold! This year the human rights group Amnesty International says that 17 people have died from cold weather conditions in Afghan refugee camps, majority of which are children. Here is your opportunity to prevent a similar disaster from reocurring this year. Donate to keep an Afghan orphan warm!
