Our good friend Greg Smith was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) last year and he is now experiencing the effects of this terrible disease with paralysis that has confined him to a wheelchair.

As many of you who know Greg,  he has an incredible love of life, family, friendships, adventure and helping others.  

One of Greg's unrealized dreams is to paraglide.   I've reached out to Jim Reich of www.flybc.org and learned that they are set up to accomodate Greg and his wheel chair for a flight near Harrison Hot Springs.  Jim can also arrange for a few other instructors to have Greg's boys fly at the same time. 

In addition to fullfilling this dream of Greg's,  we are very keen to raise funds to contribute to the acquisition of a wheelchair accessible vehicle.  Between COVID-19 movement restrictions, the non-wheelchair accessibility of his neighbourhood and the logisitical complexity of using Handidart, Greg's ability to get out and about has been severely restricted.   Greg's partner, Yasuko, indicated that "Having a vehicle will really open up Greg's ability to do things that he wants to do.  But with skyrocketing medical bills,  Greg is not sure he should buy one."  We would love to make this possible for both Greg and Yasuko.
