After a valiant battle with bile duct cancer, Denis Roussel passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017. This campaign was started by friends to support his surviving family: wife Rachel and their three children to provide support in whatever they may need after their sudden and devastating loss. In addition, it may be given to the Denis Roussel Fellowship (described below):
In searching for a way to honor Denis and support the photographic community he felt so strongly for, we have partnered with The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado to create a fellowship in his name. Art is not a luxury, it is a calling, a gift. Please join us in supporting talented artists so they may bring their creations to life and at the same time, help us honor Denis and all that was sacred to him.
Denis Roussel Fellowship
Funded by Roussel’s family and friends, administered by The Center for Fine Art Photography, we will honor Denis Roussel’s artistic legacy by offering financial assistance and professional development opportunities to committed and talented photo based artists.
