William Carlos Williams Review fund
Donation protected
My name is Ian Copestake and I am editor of the William Carlos Williams Review. I've held this position on a voluntary basis for the past five years having been offered the the editorship after a long hiatus in the journal's publication. While I was proud to get the journal going again and am desperate to make many long needed improvements to how it is run, I have found it increasingly difficult to devote sufficient time to it without funding. Hence this turn to you.
I do not have a full-time academic position but work as an independent scholar and earn my living as a proofreader, having set up a small company to this end at www.slovos.com. This pays my rent and gives me a modest living but I am not able to switch from it to do the work required to publish two issues of the Review a year without first saving up my own money to live on and so buy myself out.
My aim is thus to focus full-time on the journal for an initial period of one year from December 2014, and raise 1000 dollars a month to fund me to do this. To have this income would allow me to concentrate on making vital changes to the Review, increase its circulation and so get the word out to young scholars of poetry world-wide that their work on Williams can find an outlet.
