Wildfire Ready Raccoon was created in 2009 by Phil John as a mascot for the Paradise Ridge and Butte County Firesafe Councils as a wildfire education tool.
Phil created a story in graphic novel form about fires in 2008 that burned homes and threatened the Community of Paradise.
Phil also wrote a rap song for Wildfire Ready and with the help of three Paradise High School Seniors created a video based on the song.
In the Spring of 2018, Phil and friends created a new and more professional version of the rap as a fun song to have the Wildfire Ready Raccoon mascot dance to during public events.
Recorded and produced at Soundhaus Studios, Paradise, CA by Scott Shaw, lyrics by Phil John, Scott Shaw.
Music based on “Gangsta Paradise” by Coolio. “Wildfire Ready Rap” is a parody of that song.
It is the goal of this project to create a professional video using the new version of the song.
