Grocery Delivery for the elderly in Mountain Lakes

Hi! I'm Alexander Chen, a sophomore at Mountain Lakes High School. Can you imagine if you had to choose between life or groceries? That you had to risk your life every time you went to shop?! Maybe. But, I can say for sure that elderly people can imagine, because that's their reality. With the help of the community, the majority of people have gotten their hands on masks to keep them protected in the supermarket. However, this is not the case for elderly people. Many elderly don't have people taking care of them, nor delivering masks to them. The chance of death is also the highest for them no matter what. Covid-19 kills an estimated 13.4% of patients 80 and older, compared to the 1.25% of those in their 50s and 0.3% of those in their 40s. They are the people who most need protection and care. So, I decided to start a free grocery delivery service for the elderly, "Where's My Groceries?", for the Mountain Lakes community (my community).

The purpose of this fundraiser: I want to reduce the prices of groceries for the elderly of my community using my delivery. With the looming threat of rising prices, I do not want our grandmas and grandpas, who are retired and without income, to suffer. If I can keep prices low for them, I can ensure they can not only stay away from supermarkets and COVID, but also afford food. Right now, I pay the extra costs of groceries myself. But I'm not rich either. I'm asking for your help in keeping prices low for the elderly in my community, and I truly thank you in advance for anything you can offer.
I understand most of you do not live in Mountain Lakes or nearby, but I plead to you to help me help my community. To save and protect the lives of grandmas and grandpas who are at terrible risk during this dire time.
BUT, if you are in Mountain Lakes or nearby. Why not volunteer? You might as well have some fun and save lives instead of moping around at home from quarantinitis! :)
