Wheels for Dad

Dear Friends,

It's been a while since I've posted about my dad. He was released from the hospital in January, but the reality is that he's now confined to a new normal.  A new normal that includes navigating life from a wheelchair while spending each day working with nurses and therapists to regain as much strength and function as he can in his legs and left arm.  I'm so proud of him.  Despite a fall sometimes meaning the local firehouse has to come to help him back to his chair, and the unimaginable humiliation that must bring,  he continues working hard each day to become as strong as he can. 

One thing that he didn't even realize he shared with me is that an electric wheelchair would make life much easier because of the carpet in his home and limited mobility with his arms, it's very hard to get around. Insurance doesn't pay for such "luxuries", and with the other expenses related to his care, we can't afford to pay for a wheelchair on our own...but I started thinking-- maybe some of my dear friends would be willing to help bless him by contributing to an electric wheelchair. 

Just like the overwhelming support you showed when I posted prayers on his behalf, if you feel moved to share even $5 toward this life changing gift for my dad, we would be so thankful. If you don't feel led to give, will you please pray for him? Specifically, for continued strength, comfort and God's provision for him and his wife, Diane.

As soon as we raise $3500 I can order the wheelchair and it will be delivered within days. 

This is very hard to write...and will be even harder to hit "post" - if I ever get the nerve, I just pray with all sincerity you know the heart of this request.  Thank you so much for joining me in one of the greatest gifts I never wished to give.  love, lori
