What's Up? Coffee

Every small town has that one place. That home away from home. Full of friendly smiling local faces and an owner so friendly and inviting that it’s like coming home from a long trip every time you walk through the front door and you’re greeted by her warm smiling face. For our little town of Grass Valley that place would be What’s  Up? Coffee at 1110 East Main Street Grass Valley Ca. Owned and operated by Angie Buist, this place is everything you would come to expect from a small business in a small town. Great coffee, fresh donuts, great service, and hot food. Always a little something for everyone. And if you’re lucky you were able to catch one of the many Lego displays built by her son Josh. They were featured in the local paper and on the local news. Angie has been the owner and operator of this charming little place for 5 years now and her Facebook page is full of all the smiling faces that she has served over the years. She takes pride in serving her community. And even though it was always a constant struggle for her to keep the doors open, you would never know it by the smile she always wore and her positive upbeat and uplifting attitude. Angie is a giving person and she has a heart as big as all outdoors. She always had a hot meal for a hungry person whether you had money or not. She ran a program where anyone could donate to help buy a homeless or just plain hungry person a hot bowl of food. We all know how cold it can get up here and a hot meal means everything to a hungry person. But here generosity did not end there. She also ran programs to gather food for hungry pets as well. I could spend the rest of the night listing all of the good things that Angie Buist has done for the people of this community but I won’t. Instead I ask the people of this community to come together in a strong show of support for her. Angie unexpectedly lost the lease on her little coffee shop today and is being forced to move in June 2018. This is a completely unexpected turn of events for her and she is completely blindsided by all of this. She is facing a very unsure future but in her usual style she smiles, holds back the tears, and says everything will be ok. I’m asking the community to come together and help her tomorrow be a brighter one. We need more people and businesses like Angie Buist and What’s Up? Coffee in our community. Please help in any way that you can. We can’t afford to NOT have her running a business in our community. Let’s all come together and show her what community really is all about. Moving her business to a new location will be a costly endeavor but I’m hoping that with enough help from the community she can continue serving this community one delicious cup of coffee at a time.  Let’s not allow all of her years of good deeds go unrewarded by simply allowing her to fade off into the cracks. We need her. The community needs her. The hungry souls need her as do the hungry pets. Please give and please please share this. Thank you. A friend and a happy What’s Up? Coffee customer.
