Fundraiser for Reclaim

Established in 2022 The Unicorn Classic is a yearly exhibition hockey game played by trans, non-binary, queer folk and allies. It aims to raise funds for nonprofits working to empower and support folks in LGBTQIA communities. This year the Unicorn Classic will be raising funds for Reclaim, an amazing mental health organization that supports trans and queer youth. Over the last few years we have seen an unfortunate trend across the country of anti LGBTQIA legislation and initiatives. The declining mental health of LGBTQIA youth has become a huge epidemic. We hope that through our small contribution and event, we can help uplift and give hope to queer and trans youth.

"RECLAIM increases access to mental health support so that queer and trans youth ages 13-25 may reclaim their lives from oppression in all its forms. We provide therapy to 65+ youth each week, 80% of whom are trans or gender nonconforming; develop practitioners with an emphasis on changing the landscape of access to care in our region through training POCI therapists in gender competent care; and partner in community through outreach & education and the intersection of gender and racial justice."
