2015-16 WEST SOUND HOCKEY CLUB - SQUIRTS!
Thank you for supporting us this year! In ice hockey, Squirts are ages 9 and 10. This year we have 15 players, including one girl. We are raising the money to play in two tournaments this year.
Each player is asked to raise $200. Your donation supports the registration fees for both tournaments, as well as gifts for our coaches at the end of the year.
The hockey moms are also doing bake sales and pizza fundraisers - check out Leni's hockey puck cookies!

So what's it like to be a hockey player?
It takes a lot of responsibility and commitment as a whole family to play hockey. The costs associated with ice time, gear, and travel to practice games are high. Kids commute 45 minutes each way 2 - 3 times a week for practice, often doing homework in the car. Although families sacrifice a lot because they love this great game, they develop a contagious can-do attitude! We help each other find and repair gear, run car pools, and cheer loudly at games. The friendships formed through ice hockey are durable! Three dads are serving as coaches this year - Thank you Darrel, Arlo and Brett for teaching the kids sportsmanship, responsibility, time management, and the joy of playing together!
