We Love Gina!
The Medea Project has a woman-friend in need. For those of you who know us, one of our principal core members, Gina Dawson, is facing a crisis of her own - a health crisis. Gina has been diagnosed with a type of cancer called myeloma, and faces a barrage of treatments, specifically, a bone marrow transplant, which will place her in recovery for 4-6 months. In that time, she will need everything from inpatient recovery housing, special cleaning, and funds to help her keep afloat while she can't work.
For the last twenty years, Medea has worked to help hundreds of women in social, legal, and physical crisis find their voice, tell their story, come back to their community. We carry on that mission to this day. That commitment does not stop with the jails or the HIV clinics. Gina's crisis is personal to us, and our commitment to her is because she is our sister. Gina is a dancer. But more than that, she is a light, a force of nature, and a true friend. And she needs all our help to get through this.
