About Well Space

Well Space is a grassroots volunteer run community space in Hackney. Our passion and aim is working together to provide space for people to connect, make great ideas a reality and share skills. We believe in the strength of community to support one another and make positive change.

We have renovated the space through fundraising, donations and volunteer labour to make it welcoming and functional but there is ongoing maintenance, running costs and equipment needed. We’d like to keep our doors open, host pop up events and regular free/low cost activities for people in the area.

We have transformed the space from a run down building into a multi purpose community space all through volunteering and donations. We have set up as a Community Interest Company as this fits our ethos to not operate for private gain.

Any money raised in excess will be used for essential running costs to help us stay open.

We are a team of 3 volunteer directors with local connections who manage the space, with a growing team of other volunteers. We are diverse in terms of age and background but have a shared vision to provide a wonderful space for our community. We care deeply about people and the planet and follow the ethos of thinking globally and acting locally.
