Welcome Our New Neighbors

We've "adopted" a local Syrian refugee family in San Diego for the holidays and would love your help getting them some things that they need.I met with them Sunday in El Cajon.
They are warm, welcoming people who invited me into their home and made me the richest most delicious cup of coffee I've ever tasted. 

Their lives have been unexpectedly uprooted and they could use so many basics. 
We'd like to be able to take this material burden off their shoulders so that they can focus on resettling, learning english, finding jobs, and becoming themselves again.

Our goal includes:
-$1000 for their living room- Large L-shaped  Sofa, coffee table, end table, lamps

-$250 per person for 2 New Shoes, Jeans/Pants, a Jacket, Pajamas, and an Extra Item or 2 for each person (backpack, scarves, a shirt or two, diapers)

The family includes 2 Parents plus 6 children-ages 19, 17, 15, 13, 8, 3.
The children have already started school. 
The father worked as an electrician in Syria and is studying to get his driver's license.

Let's give them a warm welcome to San Diego.

Any extra funds will go directly to the family for an iron, a desk, cleaning supplies, a laptop, iPad/tablet , bicycles, a car, and whatever else they need.

For verification purposes- we live in San Marcos, CA and were linked to this family through my neighbor's local nonprofit organization.  I have spent time with this family in person.
