We Villages

As many of you know, I visited Kenya with my family last summer on a mission trip. It was AMAZING. The trip was run by a non-profit called the WE Organization which also runs the Me to We Foundation. We met many families with children who live without so many of the things we all have here in the US. While it was sad, it was also surprising to see how happy they were with so little and I loved spending time with them. Unfortunately, so much of what they have is unhealthy -- for example, we traveled with the Mamas to the river and helped them get water for their daily duties - it was dark brown.
This summer, I'm going to a camp that is run by Me to We. It's in Toronto and we're going to study social justice and learn how, as kids, we can do more to help the world be a better place. I can't wait!!
My family has sponsored a village in Kenya where we'll be building out schools, clean water facilities, cafeterias and more. The villagers will also be given access to medical supplies and first aid, something they don't have now. I've decided that as part of my camp experience that I'm going to raise money for the organization that makes this all possible. I'm hoping that you will join me and donate to this cause that means so much to me. Any donation will help make an impact!!
