Help Angie Fight Rare Cancer and Focus on Healing
Please share and support if you can.
On March 11th, 2025 our dear friend, Angie, had a lump on her shin surgically removed. Although this was originally thought to be a benign neoplasm, unfortunately on March 17th she received the devastating news that she has a very rare and extremely aggressive soft tissue sarcoma in her leg. In addition to this diagnosis she was told that the pathology showed there was still cancer in the surrounding tissue of her leg.
After consulting with the University of Chicago she was uncomfortable with their opinions and treatment plan for her specific diagnosis. This type of cancer is so rare (incidence rate of 1 in 1 million people per year) that Angie made the decision to advocate for herself and seek out a second opinion. After extensive research she felt the best decision for her health was to transfer her future surgeries, care, and further treatments to a specialist in Cleveland, OH.
The surgery to remove the remaining cancer and establish clear margins in her leg begins May 22, 2025. This extensive surgery will not only require deep tissue removal, it will also include reconstructive plastic surgery, and a very lengthy recovery. Currently, it is unknown as to how long she will need to remain in Cleveland post-op, as well as how frequent her followup visits and treatments in Ohio will be moving forward.
While Angie approaches this next step with courage and peace, there’s still so much uncertainty. What is certain is that the physical, emotional, and financial toll is heavy. With Angie being the sole parent and provider for her 3 beautiful children it is going to be an incredibly difficult journey for them all.
We’re rallying together to help lift the financial burden so Angie can focus entirely on what matters most: her healing and recovery. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help. And if you’re not able to give financially, your prayers and shares mean just as much.
Let’s show Angie she’s not alone. Let’s help her fight — one donation, one prayer, one share at a time.
