My name is Aseel. I’m a young mother living in Egypt with my little boy, while my husband Khalil is trapped in Gaza. We’ve been separated since I was pregnant, and Khalil has never seen his son. I gave birth alone, far from my husband and family, with a heart full of fear and pain. We stay in touch through video calls, and every call ends in tears. Our baby only knows his father through a phone screen. Khalil is living in a tent, without clean water or enough food. His physical and emotional health gets worse every day. And I’m raising our son alone, praying every night that we will be together again. This fundraiser is our only hope—to help Khalil survive, to get him out of Gaza, and to reunite our little family.
