Katie Lynn Von Rueden lived her life to know Christ and make Him known. On November 4, she passed away in her sleep and is now in glory. Katie’s faithful and joyful service in all that she was called to is a testimony to the worthiness of the gospel. Her character helped her to walk forward in faith, trusting in the goodness of her Savior.
Katie’s physical body was laid to rest on November 7, 2022 in the red earth outside of her home in Africa, to the singing of the villagers who had grown to love her as their own. She lived amongst them to share the Bible’s Good News about forgiveness of sin through Jesus’ death on the cross for them and His bodily resurrection from the dead. And now in her death and burial there in Africa, she will continue to be amongst them and will spread that message of hope as they are reminded of her love for them and for Christ.
Katie leaves behind her beloved husband of 14 years, Kyle, and her two precious children, Tristan(8) and Liesel(6). This fund has been created as an opportunity to bless her family with the means to memorialize Katie physically in the States, since her gravesite is in Africa. Funds will also help Kyle and the kids with immediate and future needs as they begin the process of navigating a future without Katie.
John 11:25-26 (NIV) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
