Shana has been suffering from seizures for over 6 years. Despite taking high dosages of 3 separate medications she still experiences break through seizures that end her up in the hospital for extended periods of time and make daily life difficult. The treatment her doctors recommend is most likely brain surgery. It is invasive, risky and expensive. Her prior medical bills and limited ability to work make it difficult to afford the tests and procedures. After surgery her prognosis is great. She could start to ween off the medications and be able to return to the workforce full time and fully participate in family life again.
