Waterloo Firemen's Park Project

Donation protected
Waterloo Firemen's Park, built in 1905 is steep in tradition and History.  We have had so many wonderful events and memories in the park the past 2 years since taking over.  Each weekend you can find it filled with children laughing or a wedding song in the background.  From July 4th to our 1st Annual Tailgate, there is something to do for everyone in Firemen's Park.  With your help we will continue to do this the citizens of Waterloo and anyone who comes to visit our historic park.

As the Waterloo Parks Coordinator, and on behalf of Waterloo Parks Department, we are holding Phase 1 of our Firemen's Park Beautification & Infrastructure Donation Campaign.  Firemen's Park has held many events, fundraisers and charity banquets.  Now it is time we do something for her.  All proceeds go to benefit Firemen's Park and her needs so we may have her be the memories for future generations.

Funds would be used for Beautification Projects in the park such as:  New Seating Area in front of the Park Pavilion, Mason Entrance Gate restoration, New Landscaping around the Outdoor Bathrooms, Bridges and other outdoor structures, new 18 hole Disc Golf Course, new Sand Volleyball Courts and Basketball Courts, new decorative stones in the roadway median in front of Park Pavilion and a brand new look to the oldest active baseball field in the State of Wisconsin. This fund would also serve the infrastructure fixes such as updates and upgrades to existing plumbing and electrical in all buildings bringing them to code and safe for all to use.

During a recent engineering study done in Firemen's Park, it was found that she needs over $3 Million in repairs and updates.  Our campaign will stretch over the next 10 years with this being our first phase in this huge endeavor.

We will be running this First Phase from now until December 31st, looking to raise $100,000 or more before then.  This is a very large task, but I believe she is worth it.  This will help fill in the gaps of projects already started and finish off the first phase of projects such as Decorative Stone in Median,  Baseball Field Renovation, Disc Golf additions, Mason Entrance, Pavilion Seating Area, Sand Volleyball Courts and start the updates to the infrastructure that is so badly needed.

Your donation will mean so much not only to the Waterloo Parks Department, but to the citizens of Waterloo and many visitors she has each year.  All donations withdrawn will go directly to the Firemen's Park 225 Donation Account.  Any donation over $250 will recieve Dorothy Jensen's book, Waterloo Firemen's Park, for the people, by the people.
