Wasteskun Meztli Moondance New Ceremonial Grounds

To the Wasteskun Meztli family - the Northern Lights Moondance of Quebec, and the World-wide Moondance & ceremonial community.

This is a very strong yet magical year of transition for us! 

After 9 years of dancing on the beautiful grounds of St Remi, we must Move. For these years the neighbourhood surrounding the grounds has tolerated our presence, until last summer, when it was made very clear that we are no longer at liberty to drum through the night! Feeling that this day would one day come, we have been searching for a new ceremonial ground. Through a series of 'graces', the land instead ‘found us’. It is a rare gem in the heart of the boreal forest that has been a home and ceremonial grounds for over 22 years.

And so, to make this a Reality, for Wastekun Meztli to continue, for the ‘seasoned dancers’ and all the new ones to come, we need your help! 

Presently on the land, several very old and broken-down buildings need to be removed to make space for the arbour, the ceremonial fire, teaching space and sweats. 

The demolition and clearing of the land will require $20,000. Acquiring the rental rights will be an additional $50,000. The move, infrastructure and necessities of this land will cost an estimated $10,000 ... Meaning that the whole move and re-installation will cost approximately $80,000. We have chosen to be clear about what it will require of the community, although some of the costs can be carried by the dance over a few years. 

As it was 10 years ago, this is just the beginning! It is a super exciting new beginning! It is a journey that we are diving into heart and soul, as we are guided by our altar, our prayers, our elders, and our potential. The more we give now, the more the power of this prayer can continue to unfold and grow in the years to come. 

The most important Gift is that we Now have a land that we can call Home for Wasteskun Meztli!! and that is something to give thanks for!

C'est une année puissante de transition et pourtant magique pour nous tous!

Après 9 ans à danser sur les magnifiques terres de St Rémi, il nous faut maintenant bouger. Pendant toutes ces années, le voisinage entourant le terrain a toléré notre présence, jusqu'à l'été dernier, lorsqu'il a été clairement indiqué que nous n'étions plus libres de vivre notre cérémonie toute la nuit! Sentant que ce jour viendrait, nous sommes depuis longtemps en recherche d’une nouvelle terre de cérémonie. Grâce à une série de « bénédictions », cette terre nous a plutôt « trouvés ». C'est un joyau rare au cœur de la forêt boréale qui a été une maison et un lieu de cérémonies traditionnelles pendant plus de 22 ans.

Et donc, pour en faire une réalité, afin que la prière de Wastekun Meztli se poursuive, pour les « danseuses chevronnées » et toutes les nouvelles à venir, nous avons besoin de votre soutien!

Actuellement, sur le terrain, il y a plusieurs bâtiments très anciens et délabrés qui doivent être enlevés pour faire de la place pour l’autel, le feu de cérémonie, l'espace d'enseignement et les temazcal.

La démolition et le défrichement du terrain nécessiteront 20 000 $. L'acquisition des droits de location coûtera 50 000 $ supplémentaires. Le déménagement des infrastructures de la danse et autres nécessités coûteront environ 10 000 $ ... Ce qui signifie que l'ensemble du déménagement et de la réinstallation coûtera environ 80 000 $. Nous avons choisi d'être clairs sur ce que cela exige de notre communauté, bien qu'une partie des coûts puisse être supportée par la danse sur quelques années.

Tout comme il y a 10 ans, ce n'est qu'un début! C'est un nouveau départ super excitant mais qui implique une responsabilité partagée! Cela suppose un voyage dans notre cœur et notre âme, guidés par notre autel, nos prières, nos aînées et notre potentiel. 

Plus nous donnons maintenant, plus la puissance de cette prière peut continuer à se déployer et à grandir dans les années à venir.

Le cadeau le plus important est que nous avons maintenant une terre que nous pouvons appeler La Maison pour Wasteskun Meztli, et c'est quelque chose dont il faut rendre grâce!

Chaque don, grand ou petit, est de la plus haute importance. Vos généreuses contributions nous permettront de manifester tout ce qui est nécessaire pour avoir un endroit sûr pour continuer ce travail sacré.
