Serving, facilitating and empowering Hurricane Harvey communities (human and animal, alike) in rebuilding their lives.
Hi, my name is Jewel and I reside in one of Houston’s nearby communities. For those who are not here, I know it's difficult to comprehend the magnitude of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.
We want to reach those who are in need; primarily focusing on the low-income communities (the communities most often left behind) with their immediate needs (i.e.: food, water, necessities for adults, children and babies, medical supplies, etc.). Also, assisting various Animal Shelters who are rescuing and housing our fur-companions/animal kingdom survivors with whatever needs they may have (i.e.: food, water, beds, carriers, medicine, etc.).
We have repeatedly witnessed (once the storm has blown over) the following:
As the news media, FEMA, Red Cross, volunteers (etc.) leave... these devastated regions are soon forgotten. Yet, the urgent and continued need for help remains present.
