Warm Turkey 2022

Hi everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving!

We want to begin by thanking everyone who helped meet our goal last year of $2,000 of donations and 200 donations. For 2022, our goal will be to reach $3,000 and over 300 care packages. UPDATE: As of January 2022, Warm Turkey has been registered and recognized as a 501(c3) charity. Due to this new development, we will be partnering with businesses to make each donation go a longer way. All contributions are tax-deductible up to the dollar amount of your donation for 2022.

What is Warm Turkey?

Warm Turkey is a philanthropic initiative that aims to deliver food, select comfort clothing items, and sanitary items to the New York City (NYC) homeless community during the week of thanksgiving. Warm Turkey’s aim is to provide a little comfort to people who will often have no one or nowhere to celebrate thanksgiving with.

When:

Donation Deadline: Wednesday, Nov. 16th

Distribution: Saturday, Nov. 18th

The $10 Care Package:

-Hat, Gloves, Socks

-Turkey Sandwich

-Bottle of Water

-Healthy Snack

-Wet Wipes

Recent Statistic:

According to the Coalition for the Homeless, NYC’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women, and children in NYC, “in recent years, homelessness in New York City has reached the highest levels since the Great Depression.” Over the 2020 fiscal year, 122,926 individuals and families spent at least one night at the New York City municipal shelter system.
