Walsh Family Hurricane Irma Relief

Donation protected
During Hurricane Irma my aunt and uncle's house suffered extensive damage due to an extremely large tree crashing through their roof.  Luckily no one was physically hurt.   Although, there were no injuries the result of this is a huge financial hardship.
My Aunt Chris has recently been forced into retirement after years of cut hours and reduced benefits.  Her brother, my uncle Bill, shares the house with her and is also unemployed.  Despite years of trying he has been unable to establish gainful employment after suffering two bouts of cancer.  Chris and Bill are not the type of people to ask for a handout, for this reason they have made hard choices over the years including dropping homeowners insurance   They have remained strong through so many struggles and have pieced together what they can to live without the assistance of others.   Swallowing pride and asking for help is not easy for them to do.
Both Chris and Bill have medical issues which makes the situation even more of a strain and adds to the importance of a speedy restoration.  The air quality in the house is extremely poor due to dust and debris from insulation.   The gaping hole in the roof and ceiling is allowing water in adding to the destruction.
As typical in an emergency  situation my family is pulling together and we have secured a crane service to remove the tree from the house  tomorrow so we can begin work to restore the house to a liveable condition.   This alone will drain most of our available resources.  We  are in the process of seeking assistance from FEMA and looking for other avenues as well.  We are asking for your help in the meantime.  Funds raised  will be used to repair the interior of the house replace roof as well as cover living expenses as they take refuge.
If you know me even moderately well you've heard at least one story of my Aunt Chrissy and if you're lucky you've gotten a chance to meet her too.   When I was young she spoiled me rotten and made no excuses for it.  I remember asking her why she would do so many nice things for me and her response was always the same.   She'd tell me she loved me.  Sometimes it would bother me that I couldn't do nice things for her and when it did she'd remind me that she didn't have kids of her own and one day when she was old and grey I'd get to take care of her too.
Well... I guess that time is here.
I thank you all in advance for sharing this page, and for donations.
