Walking for Ukraine 2022

UPDATE: 3rd May 2022 

The monies you Donte will directly go to the 2 charities I have chosen. WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN & INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR ANIMAL WELFARE. I will no longer be travelling to the Ukrainian/polish boarder to help as originally intended. My heart still would love to go to help, but unfortunately my schedule won’t allow. From day one of the war on Ukraine, I have been researching many ways to get to the Ukrainian border to help with refugees. Unfortunately, I hit a brick wall many times, but I may have found a solution thanks to my cheffing background. However, the company that I would go through doesn’t cover travel and accommodation. So as a way to cover my costs, I have come up with a personal challenge and am asking you, my family, friends and acquaintances for support.

If, however, the logistics do not work out and I can not get to Poland (near the Ukrainian border), I will donate 100% to two charities. One being Central World Kitchen and the other IFAW.

In honour of those families who had and continue to have no choice but to abandon their homes, evacuate on foot and walk many miles to safety, from the beginning of April, I will walk 785 miles (1219.88km), the widest part of Ukraine, in 52 days. That’s 51days @15miles (24.14km) and 1day @20miles (32.18km).

Like many, I feel helpless that I can not be of more help to Ukraine and its citizens; so with this said:

'We are not promised tomorrow.

This moment is all we have.

So hug your loved ones a little longer today and tell them you love them.'
