6th Annual Wade Duggan Memorial Tournament

Our Mission:  To help remove the statement, “No, I can’t afford it.”

Good day.

On March 12th, 2009 our friend/former teammate/co-worker/family member was tragically lost in the Cougar Flight 491 crash.  Wade’s love & dedication to hockey was common to many of us.  In 2011, it was decided to start an annual hockey tournament for fellow workers in the Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Oil Industry.  The purpose of the tournament is to celebrate Wade Duggan’s life, love of hockey, and to bring together workers from the offshore for an honorable cause.

Each year, our organizers have increased our donations and have gone from distributing a little over $4,700 in year one, to distributing over $26,845 to 40 children in 2015, and another $25,375 to 42 children across Newfoundland and Labrador in 2016! The Wade Duggan Memorial Fund is spread across 10 different minor hockey associations this year again, from the Southern Shore right up to the Great Northern Peninsula.  We want to continue our success and help even more kids to achieve their hockey goals without the stress of where the equipment or registration funding will come from.

2016 is here and we are finalizing our campaign and tournament. We would love to surpass the previous year’s donations and help more kids with registrations, equipment and the growing expenses that revolve around hockey in Newfoundland and Labrador. We know that Wade would be so proud of this tournament and honoring his name for such a worthy cause.
