Honoring Ari, Our Warrior Princess: Support for Her Legacy

It is with shattered hearts that we share the news that our sweet Ariya has gone to be with God on Wednesday February 12, 2025.

For six beautiful years, Ariya brought light, love, and joy to everyone who knew her. She was the heart of her family, a constant source of joy and love. (Brandon)Bam, (Salinda)Ling, (Vaise)Adriel and (Tamau)Adrien’s world revolved around her. They would do anything and everything for their princess because she’s the sweetest girl you’d ever meet. She was not just a fighter but a little girl who adored her family fiercely and left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Even in the face of unimaginable pain, she fought, and she inspired us all with a strength far beyond her years. She was a warrior in every sense of the word!!! She faced this battle with a spirit that has left us all in awe!! She fought harder than anyone should ever have to fight, and now, though it breaks us to say goodbye, we take solace in knowing that Ari is finally free from pain.

Our family is devastated, and there are no words to describe the depth of our grief. She was our world, and the void she leaves behind feels insurmountable. But in our heartbreak, we are also deeply grateful—for every moment, every memory, and every ounce of support that you all have given us.

As we move forward, the funds from this campaign will now be used to lay Ariya to rest and to honor her memory in the most beautiful way we can. Your generosity will allow us to give her the farewell she deserves and create a lasting tribute to the incredible little girl she was.

On Friday morning, January 24, 2025, I spoke to my cousin Ling as we always do—sharing updates about our week, the kids, and life in general. She mentioned that her youngest, our sweet princess Ari, was recovering from dental surgery and had been battling a tough stomach bug. But she assured me she was starting to feel better.

Just hours later, their world turned upside down.

That evening, Ariya was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Her tiny heart stopped twice. Her kidneys were functioning at only 5%. In a matter of moments, everything changed. The questions, the fear, the unimaginable worry—they couldn’t make sense of it.

Then, on Saturday morning, time stood still. Ling, Bam, Vaise and Lushana heard the words no parent should ever have to hear. Their baby girl, their light, their warrior, was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Ariya is only 6 years old. She should be playing with her brothers, Adriel and Adrien, giggling at bedtime, and dreaming of Hello Kitty and Elsa. Instead, she’s facing a battle no child should have to fight.

Despite everything, Ari has already shown us her incredible strength. She’s fighting with everything she has. But the road ahead is long and filled with uncertainty. Her parents have barely had a moment to breathe, let alone process what’s happening, while still trying to care for their two boys. Their world has been turned upside down overnight, and as they focus on Ariya’s health, we want to help lighten their burden.

Thank you all so much for praying for Ari at the moment, she’s intubated and sedated, docs/nurses are trying hard to keep her blood pressure and oxygen stable. Before emergency surgery, they performed CPR on her. They had to cut out the intestines that were dead so they made a large incision on her stomach to release pressure and drain unwanted fluids that caused her stomach to distend. With her stomach being that way, it was smashing her lungs causing her to have short, fast breaths. She also had another procedure after the emergency surgery to drain the fluids that were surrounding her heart that was making it harder for her heart to pump. She has had such a long, hard day fighting with all she has to survive ❤️‍ but she’s not quite out of the woods yet so we’re gonna keep praying for her and lifting her up to Godfor He is the ultimate doctor!! I love you my baby!!!! We have so much more to do, I’ll be waiting for you my Pretty Princess
