A very Special home for Special people

Donation protected
Brotherhood of Marines, Inc. is a 501(C)3 nonprofit listed at the Secretary of State of North Carolina, as a current/active nonprofit. Our Mission is to develop a Brotherhood of Marines Rehabilitation Home for wounded warriors with Prosthetics, and to create a case management organization that will track, assist and fully implement training, education and counseling for readjustment back into the civilian sector. We also strive to assist their children.

Today we need your help to complete a very special home, we have embarked on constructing a special needs home for Veteran's children that have rare disorders and/or special needs that want the experience of attending college at ECU and want the college experience of being on their own. Though a nurse will be in the home 24/7 the students will get to enjoy being on their own away from Mom and Dad while in School. This home will be equipped in accordance with ADA guidelines. To construct a home of this magnitude we have many needs. Our immediate goal is $500,000 to complete the home and buy a van equipped for their needs. The property and existing home has been donated by the Brotherhood of Marines, inc. The house is located in the historical district of Greenville, and will remain on the roles as a Historical home, as all the work will be done to duplicate this home and help it remain on the Historical Roles. It is one block from the University and we hope will be one of many.

I know our goal looks overwhelming, but if we just keep chipping away at it we'll get there. These kids need our support, and those families need some peace of mind that their children will be living somewhere safe while going to school. Many of them don't go to school for this reason; they have nowhere to live that meets their needs.

At the present our completion date for the Special Needs Home is July of 2014. Brotherhood of Marines will be taking applications from Veterans for their children with disabilities that want to attend East Carolina University beginning in the fall of 2014. The home will house 4 students that require special needs assistance. The average cost for housing in the Greenville area is approximately $3,000.00 for children with special needs; this home will cut that expense in half and provide several other benefits to those deserving children. Spread the word or recommend a child of a veteran; helping wounded warriors who have children with disabilities would really be a gift from you to those who have need that would reflect on your commitment to our warriors and their children. We ask you to open up your hearts and donate just a few dollars.http://www.gofundme.com/w9738.
