Reunite me with my children

My name is Val and my 3 beautiful kids, Savvy age 10, Jack  9, and Rein 8 desperately need both of their parents.  My ex and I adopted them in 2010. Unfortunately , life doesn't always go the way you expect it to. In 2016, after 16 years together, my wife asked for a divorce.    Our marriage wasn't working, but we were still friends, and I believed we could work together in a way that would benefit the kids. Reality, and what I hoped would be, were two grossly different things.  By the end of 2018 I had been completely cut off from all communication with her, and my children.  I have not seen them since February of 2018.  When our relationship began, in the summer of 2000, same sex marriage wasn't legal.  Although we were in a committed relationship, by law, I was never afforded full legal parental rights. The children share my last name, call me mommy. I have been their primary parent until the divorce. Their names are tattooed on my arm. I stood before the court, as their mother, at their adoption hearing. When my youngest was born, I was the one who held her first.  I cut her umbilical cord and took her to all her doctor visits.  I spent many sleepless nights caring for my son, who had health issues and needed a lot of attention in his earlier years. My oldest daughter was 2 when she was adopted.  She has now been forced to experience the loss of parents twice in her short life.  I am, undoubtedly, their parent, I always have been.  To my family and theirs, I am their parent. To friends and the rest of the world, I am their parent.  Now, sadly, I must prove this to the judicial system.  I will not give up until I am reunited with them, but I need your help.  My kids, all kids, need both of their parents. It's imperative to their well-being.  This isn’t just about me and my childrens’ rights to be together. This is about all parents and children who come from a different background that the justice system hasn’t caught up with yet. We are not only fighting for the right thing to be done and the wellness of my children, but setting a precedence in the law.
