My eye surgery

Spende geschützt
Hi my name is Chris, and this is my story.

August of 2019 I began to lose my vision. To the point where I wasn’t able to work, drive or even read text if any sort.
I went to see doctors (multiples) and nobody seemed to be able to diagnose what was going on. This went on and nobody could help me and it just kept getting worse. Maria was the one reading things for me, and driving for me, and sometimes tell me who was the person that said hello that walked pass me. I hate that I can’t provider better for my family, to see my daughters clearly, or even do things on my own.

Finally, around March 2020 I met Dr. Kemp and he diagnosed with cataracts but he couldn’t preform surgery because I had a lot of inflammation in eye. Because it wasn’t safe. We tried the strongest eye drops on the market and it just didn’t help. He sent me to more doctors and nobody could seem to figure it out. Time went by and I had remained the same.

Finally, after a whole year and then some Dr. Kemp couldn’t figure it out he gave up and sent us on to Dr. Robert Wong. Dr. Wong mentioned I have rare problem that not many have. He couldn’t completely diagnose me because he needs to get the Cataracts out to clearly see the back of the eye to help me.

From my understand I have cataracs and behind that I have sticky eye and some scar tissue that Dr Alexander will be able to fix for me.

Behind all of that I have really bad inflammation that nobody could seem to control. So Dr.Wong can help and prevent me from going blind because the longer the inflammation stays the more damage is created. The damage that already has happen they won’t be able to fix but the sooner the doctor can find the right medicine, the less damage will happen. I can’t risk losing anymore vision. I need to provide for my family, see my family grow up.

Dr. Wong requested for Dr. Alexander to take a look at me and preform surgery ASAP. She squeezed us in. She took a look at me and said we need to get you in and schedule me for January 16th to do one eye to see how my eye does because it was risky to preform the surgery. To help me Dr. Wong was going to have to put a shot into my eye to control the inflammation for the surgery since the surgery was going to cause extra inflammation that we didn’t need.

we booked it, not knowing what it was going to cost.

The shot costed me: $404
The doctor visit to measure my cataract lenses: $220
The doctor to preform the surgery: $597
The anesthesiologist: $167
The facility: $1123
The meds for after the surgery $254
All of the totals above HAD to be paid up front. We asked for payment plans and they couldn’t do it. All of this just for one eye. Which was blessing that we even got one eye done. As of now I’m recovering good.

I know it’s a lot to ask, but we would really appreciate any type of donation for the second eye to help cover the cost. The surgery for the second eye could possibly happen on February 2nd.
