Dear Friends,
Last night, Opal, a cherished member of our community, was rushed to the emergency vet by her devoted mom due to a sudden decline in her health. Opal's kidney values were dangerously high, leading to the vet presenting euthanasia as an immediate option. However, her mom chose to fight for her, and our team of dedicated veterinarians is doing everything they can to save her.
Here is Opal's Story:
The next steps are crucial. Opal requires 24-hour monitoring and treatment. Typically, treatment for this condition involves two phases: first, flushing the kidneys and removing accumulated toxins from the blood, and then managing the disease to delay its progression.
We are hopeful that with the supervision of a trained team over the next 48 hours, Opal's kidney values can be stabilized. Our immediate goal is to raise $4,500, which covers the total amount needed to keep her monitored until tomorrow morning. Once tomorrow comes and Opal's labs are compared to her previous ones, we will know our next steps - whether that's keeping her another day at the clinic or monitoring her at home as best as possible.
Our ultimate goal of $6,000 includes funds for any extra costs that may arise and ensures we have enough for another night of monitoring if needed.
