Determined to beat Tenosynovial giant cell tumor

Hi, my name is Brittany and I’m fund raising for my best friend who has been diagnosed with a Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor that only happens in 4 out of 4 million people. The tumor is sitting on her femur bone and her sciatic nerve. Not only is it on her largest bone but it’s a tumor that will continually grow as it’s hormone based. It is currently the size of a football. Unfortunately when they take it out it will grow back but it is very important that they get it away from the nerve. She was seen in Rutland’s Cancer center which was fabulous but because it’s so rare she needed to go to a hospital that has seen a case. After being regretted from a few hospitals she was accepted at Boston’s Mass General cancer center. They gave her options of the Chemotherapy that is only given out at one pharmacy in America and then once it’s away from the dangerous areas she will be sent to Mass Generals orthopedic surgeon and a team will go in and take all they can. After preparing for chemo as a single mom her parents were kind enough to watch her daughter so she didn’t need to see her sick.

But this past weekend after she started her trial chemo she started to have reactions. Not even into day five midway through the day she came down the stairs and lost all feeling in her leg with the tumor. She was very scared as she kept trying to push on her toes, calf’s and upper thigh and nothing no response. We took her straight to the ER and waited for answers, but unfortunately they were not able to really feel a pulse and the foot was very cold. I have now been in the hospital for five days and they have decided that I need to be transferred to Mass General this is happening has just started a new job at the hospital as a certified medical assistant and is unable to work. These past 6 months have been very trying coming out of a abusive relationship and rebuilding her life in a positive direction here in Vermont. Our group of friends have surrounded her with so much love but now she needs more than what we can do.

Any help will go towards all her travel, medical and house bills for her and her daughter as they navigate this difficult time.
