Love for Lisa

Lisa Champagne, a fourth grade teacher for 18 years at St. Leo's in Leominster (and 6 years at St. Bernard's in Fitchburg), was diagnosed with breast cancer in November, 2017. She has undergone a double masectomy, a second surgery to address a serious infection, and a bout of colitis; she still faces several months of chemotherapy and radiation.  The school has reassured Lisa that they will continue to support her through these difficult times.  But managing her mounting medical bills presents its own challenges.

Lisa has been a single parent to her five children since 2004, when her youngest was 7.  She is loved by her family, friends, and the 24 groups of students who have been in her  class.   We strongly feel that her focus for these next several months should be solely upon her health and recovery, not financial challenges. 

For that reason, we are providing the community an avenue to support Lisa with a donation to help defray her expenses. Thus far, she has proven herself a warrior, facing the physical and emotional challenges with faith and grace. But we all need our village sometimes, to keep us buoyed through the rough waters.
