Welcome to our page! Voters Choose is a group of young change makers who want to include you in our vision to make democracy a more-representative and satisfying experience for you. Together, we are growing this mission from Orange County, California, so that local civic and government organizations across the nation use 21'st century solutions for their voters.
Our first proposal, the Rank and Add Model, has gained momentum in our communities because it lets voters put any number of their preferred candidates in order (1'st, 2'nd, 3'rd, etc.). Then, each ranking gets a point value (e.g. 1=1 point, 2=1/2 point, 3=1/3 point), and you add them up to get the winner. At heart, it's a simple process, and that is because we want candidates to see the real value in reaching out to every voter, and because voters ought to have full power over their choices. Changing the rules changes the game, and our proposals have the traction at Harvard College and Major League Baseball's MVP program to show it will have better outcomes.
We are asking for an initial $10000 to launch and maintain the central pillars of our project: education, research, and advocacy. Any donation you make, no matter how big or small, makes our movement possible, so we encourage you to state what excites you about reforming our democracy and what part of the project you are supporting.
Here is an approximate outline of how these funds will support Voters Choose over this upcoming year:
$1500: Nonprofit 501(c)3 Filing Fees and Expenses in California and Massachusetts
Education: $2000: Community Workshops (~$250 for each event, involving food and space reservations) $500: Communication Materials (Animation Video services, social media outreach, website development)
