Volunteering at Marine Conservation Philippines

Hello friends and fambo!
As most of you know I graduated from university this summer with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. My next mission is to develop my skills and get more experience in marine field work, which also includes gaining my SCUBA certification. For this, I have found the perfect NGO (non-governmental organisation) called Marine Conservation Philippines (MCP) whom you can find out more information about with the following link: https://www.marineconservationphilippines.org/ . As a volunteer I will be working 6 days a week, will get to log around 80-100 dives and receive up to 2 SCUBA certifications whilst contributing to the conservation efforts of this organisation.
I will be travelling to the Philippines on February 13th 2020 until 24th April, which as you can imagine is not going to be cheap. I am already well into my saving and picking up as many shifts at work as I can to fund myself! However, in this festive period I am creating this fundraiser as a means by which you can support me in funding my volunteering and travels as a Christmas gift if you wish to do so.
BREAKDOWN OF COSTS:
- The volunteering fees at MCP are ~£350/week which includes my accomodation, airport transfers, marine park entry fees, SCUBA lessons, and all meals and snacks. Which comes to a total of ~£2800 for the 8 weeks that I will be volunteering with them (excl. fees for international money transfer).
- Flights (which I have already purchased): £720
- Receiving two SCUBA certifications after completion of the courses will be ~£140.
- Travel insurance: ~£250
- Visa for 2.5 month stay: ~£150
- Immunisations: £189
- And then of course there's spending money for throughout my stay at MCP as well as for a little 2 week adventure island hopping that I have also planned.
With your help I could have a more comfortable stay, worry less about money and more about passing my SCUBA exams and correctly identifying coral species! Furthermore, during my stay I was thinking I might start up a blog so that those who are interested can follow along. What are your thoughts on this?
