Love for Cat

Dear friends, family and community of Cat Akinah Wison ~

As many of you know, Cat’s housemate and dear friend Rudy was recently in a life threatening accident that left his right leg in a very precarious situation. In the outfall of this scary event, Cat has stepped into the role of Rudy’s primary care, coordinating all the overflowing support for him, medical, legal and daily matters, regarding what he needs now and when he returns home.

Needless to say it has been a very full time job for her. She has hardly been able to work for the past 2 months. In the midst of all this Cat was in a small accident that totaled her own vehicle, leaving her without a car, more indebted and unable to cover all her costs. Finally, she is also in the middle of building her home, which was already a big leap for her financially.

Although there is a gofundme for Rudy (and Cat as his caregiver) - a lot of the money is already needed and Cat had expressed wanting to ensure there is enough in that fund to cover things in the case of amputation, the many other medical expenses, and to put a road into his home.

We’d love to raise at the very least what Cat needs to compensate her for her loss of extra work in the past 2 months. Also, for all of us who know and love her, to recognize the countless ways that she shows up for her friends and community: Fairy Creek, Dance Temple, Circle work, healing arts, Community member, showing up financially for her family in Africa and so much more.
