Mother recovering from massive heart attack
Spende geschützt
Hey y'all this is Kathy. I'm sure most of you know that I recently suffered a massive heart attack. A 95% blockage in my main artery (the widow maker). They placed 2 more stents along with my other 3 stents, as well as had an angioplasty done (they opened a smaller artery with a small balloon).
My health started declining around the end of February and significantly declined in March a few weeks before my heart attack. Mark took over most of the household chores including our 2 younger children. I was tired all the time, every part of my body was aching, I would get winded going up and down the stairs, even just walking through the house. Mark had to miss work and take FMLA (unpaid).
The heart attack happened early in the morning while getting the kids ready for school. I was rushed to the ER by ambulance with Mark not far behind. My troponin levels were highly elevated when I got there. They got me into a room and scheduled me for a cardiac cath the next morning. That cath didn't go as planned and they scheduled me again the next morning.
After they placed my stents I went into cardiac arrest. They saved my life with CPR (I suggest everyone learns CPR to save a life). I was stable but shortly after all that was over I went into congestive heart failure. They put me on a ventilator where I remained while they drained my lungs and stomach of quite large amounts of blood. Again saving my life.
While all of this was happening to me, my family went through the wringer! My kids were terrified, my husband was terrified and lost, and no one was able to work while the bills kept adding up. We got behind on everything, water, electricity, gas, and rent.
We managed to get the water and electricity taken care of thanks to Mark having a few sick days saved. We tried to contact the landlord with no success to set up some type of payment plan. He filed eviction papers, and this is now where we stand. We went to see the magistrate on Monday the 12th where we had a kind Magistrate who gave us 16 days to either pay or vacate (she could have said 24 hrs). We found an agency willing to help us with 1 month but the landlord said all or nothing (good times).
I hate asking for help! Can't stand it, it's embarrassing for me. However, I have nowhere else to go and I don't know anyone with this type of money just laying around that could help. SOOOOO I'm asking everyone, anyone, please if you can in any way help our family keep our home. The funds would only be used for rent and utilities and I will post receipts if need be.
I know we're asking for a lot and I can find a way to pay every donation back in some form.
Thank you in advance from my family to yours!
Lots of Love,
The DiMeglio family
