India Vision Trip
Kristen has been to India half a dozen times, one of those times for an entire year living and working in Kolkata. Mark, however, has never been to India!
As we met, dated, got engaged, and now are married, I (Kristen) have always wanted to introduce Mark to India. And together, we are praying about what our lives and future holds when it comes to the passions I still strongly have for India. Therefore, we are planning for a Vision Trip to India this winter over Christmas to explore various ideas and partnership opportunities that might result in us moving full-time to India. It might also mean developing an international partnership between the United States and India.
People/Groups we plan to conenct with:
-8th Day Cafe
-IJM
-Cru
-Destiny Foundation
-Sisters Adorers
-Local churches and pastors
As this will be Mark’s first time to India, we plan to have some cultural awareness activities (similar to what I’ve done with Cru students in the past), introduce him to the various communities we would be a part of, and spend time with friends.
Finally, we are only asking for support to cover one of our flights. Our home church, Denver Community Church, has graciously provided a grant to cover one of our flights. And in the spirit of partnership and stewardship, we will be covering all in country expenses ourselves.
We will be applying for our Visa on Arrivals on Thanksgiving day (Please pray these get granted!!!) If they are granted, we will book flights and accomodations immediately. If, however, our visas are denied, we will honor the gift that everyone gives and put aside this money within a community or an account so that it may only be used for a future Vision Trip.
With thanks and love
Mark & Kristen
