Why this Issue Matters to our Family and Community
We know firsthand how devastating it is to lose your babies. Unfortunately many families across the country, and certainly here is DC, lack access to quality and affordable pre and post natal care which has been proven to directly impact infant and maternal survival rates. We can't change what happened to our beloved Violet and Michela but with your help we can help prevent stillbirth, maternal death, and infant death by supporting the services of a stand out not for profit that I can personally vouch for through my community development work here in DC.
Mary's Center's Impact and Approach
In 2017 alone, Mary's Center worked with 1,247 women in prenatal care and birthed 1,265 babies. 94 percent of babies born to mothers enrolled in prenatal care at Mary's Center had healthy birth weights. Mary's Center offers a sliding scale payment model providing any woman and family, regardless of income, the opportunity to get holistic and preventative healthcare, social support, and education.
