Leo the Lover’s Tooth Update

We have wonderful news to share—Leo made it through his dental surgery like a champ! Because of a painful condition called Feline Oral Resorptive Lesions, most of his teeth (including all his back ones) had to be removed. Even some that looked okay on the surface had bad roots and needed to come out.

But here’s the good news: Leo is already feeling so much better. He’s in great spirits today and even had a good meal—what a trooper!

From the bottom of our hearts, Leo the Lover and I want to thank all the incredible tooth fairies who donated, shared, and sent love our way. Your kindness and support made this possible, and we are truly, deeply grateful.

I’ll be posting the vet bill and before-and-after pics in the comments for anyone who wants to see. Most of the bill was covered, thanks to your generosity.

Leo the Lover Needs a Village of Tooth Fairies

Meet Leo the Lover—one of my many rescue cats, and a total sweetheart who’s in desperate need of major dental care. And let me tell you… these teeth are not cheap!

Leo has red, inflamed spots along his gum line, which the vet believes may be linked to an immune condition that weakens his teeth. Unfortunately, some have already broken. The scary part? We won’t know the full extent of the damage until the day of surgery, when they can finally do full-mouth X-rays. The issue may go all the way to the roots.

Leo was once on the kill list at a shelter, terrified of humans. Today, he’s done a full 180—we call him Leo the Lover because he cannot get enough affection (seriously, it’s adorable).

As someone who cares for multiple rescue animals and local wildlife, I’m tapped out financially. But I’m hoping a few kind-hearted Leo fans will come together to help cover the cost of his surgery, scheduled for this coming Tuesday. Just a few weeks ago, his bill was almost 600 dollars :(, still trying to pay that too.
