Todd Battle is a giving, talented friend of many. He's a strong man who will no doubt get through this next trial of life as he has always done, as well as support others through theirs. To do it, he needs some support, too.
In mid November, Todd began to experience pain and discomfort in his lower abdomen. He was hit with waves of pain and was no longer able to urinate. After a number of trips to the emergency room in the peak of COVID and a battery of examinations, they discovered the problem. Imaging came back showing a very large cyst taking up residence in his pelvis. He was fitted with a catheter strapped to his leg, and a flash drive filled with CT and MRI scans and sent home to wait.
Despite this, he kept working for Uber Eats, walking instead of biking. His deliveries understandably slowed, and Uber Eats accused him of doing this deliberately. Uber Eats unceremoniously terminated him, alleging he was committing fraud.
He will be going in to Toronto Western to have major surgery to have his rectum and anus removed. If he were not having the surgery, his life expectancy could not be expected to exceed a year and a half. The surgery is scheduled for the week of January 21, 2021.
Given the financial challenges already in place preceding his surgery, as well as the inevitable ones that will follow it, Todd requires your financial support. The money raised will cover rent and living costs, as well as any medical needs not covered by OHIP as Todd does not have private benefits.
Thank you for your giving! Let's help Todd Battle to another Victory.
