Veterans Homestead Project

Project Homestead for Disabled, Misguided and Homeless Veterans

This project is going to be run and managed by a personal longtime friend of mine. His name is Jeremy Marcotte, and I have known him for over ten years. During this time he has been nothing but a faithful and generous person. He happens to be a husband, father of four, provider, innovator, and Green Technologist; amongst many other things, he happens to be a disabled veteran.

This project has been a longtime dream of his and he is so close to making it happen. Jeremy and his family as well as the veterans that will be living there will run the homestead. It is going to be a self-sustaining unit, built out of recyclable materials such as sandbags, tires, and shipping containers. It will also use alternative energies such as wind, solar and hydrogen.

The cost for land and permits alone comes close to $150,000. The estimated cost to get this project completely up and running is $375,000. There are a few sites that are being considered, one is 39 acres and the other is 34 acres. One has water that comes as part of the property the other does not. Some people may get discouraged with the amount of paperwork, man hours and physical work that it will take to see this through, however I have never known him to back down, slack off or up and quit anything he puts his mind to. His success is not only measured by the completion of products and projects but also his willingness to over come roadblocks by creating another route.

This homestead will provide a stress free and relaxed environment allowing the veterans to be surrounded by peers that may share common needs and at the same time create a comradeship. While veterans are in the recovery phase, they will receive help they have not been receiving. He would like to assist them through the process by teaching them skills or trades while getting back into a routine for a smoother transition to civilian life.

Donations will be used for the following:
1. Land Acquisitions/Permits
2. Materials for the build
3. Tools
4. Labor
5. Living Quarters
6. Green Tech Research/Design

*Each step will be filmed in a series for documentation. Additional footage will be available as a training guide.

We would like to thank you for your time, support and donations as we advance this project!
