To my Dear Friends.
As many of you know, I am a US Army Veteran that served During The Gulf War Era. I currently work for a Homeless Veterans Program in Tampa that's mission is to "END VETERAN'S HOMELESSNESS".
I am reaching out to all regarding a great opportunity to complete a mission trip to San Juan and the surrounding areas that were devasted by Hurricane Maria. I have taken the initiative and partnered with Circle of Veterans (COV) to create a task force to go to the island of Puerto Rico in the efforts to help the veteran community there. The task force is composed of US Army Veteran's Ron Lillard & Manuel Guevera (Native Puerto Rican). We are also in contact with an Air Force member on the ground who will be assisting us as soon as land.
The goal is to complete outreach work and identify Puerto Rican Veterans and their families that want to relocate to the United States. SSVF (Supportive Services for Veterans and Families) program has secured funds to provide transportation for veterans that lost their housing due to the hurricane and wish to relocate to the United States.
Once the families are re-located they will be linked to Permanent Housing, Employment, SSI / SSDI, VA Benefits,, with the goal of sustaing their housing and becoming self-sufficient. Your contribution towards the cost of this trip will provide us with assistance with transportation, food, supplies, and kits to be issued the veterans and their families in the harderst hit areas.
I am humbly asking for financial support to fund the cost of logistics regarding the service providers (Task Force).
Any financial contribution large or small is greatly appreciated. We willl be documenting every step of the trip and providing pictures and stories of the veterans and families we connect with.
Sincerely,
Ronald Lillard
