Vet Expenses for Rita

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nik Oldershaw and I'm raising money to get my cat, Rita, medical treatment.

The only time I've ever asked for money online has been to help my cat and unfortunately, I have to ask again. Rita is losing weight rapidly and it isn't clear what's wrong. At this point when you pet her all you can feel are bones under fur. It seems most likely a thyroid issue but we won't know for sure until more tests are done, it could be a number of things. The vet isn't an easy place for Rita so getting her to sit through any more of this is already going to be pretty difficult. Getting her treatment is an unplanned expense and one that isn't easy to cover right after the holidays. The money raised will go towards getting her back to a doctor and paying for procedures like iodine radiation therapy or anything else she might need.

I've had Rita for about 6 years now, she's almost 14. I love her so much, she's my best friend. I've never been so bonded with an animal, I feel like she's always been my cat. When money was tight the top of my grocery list was always food for Rita first and then whatever I could afford for myself after. There were plenty of times when she ate and I didn't. I hate asking for money online but it's painful watching her get sick and being unable to do anything to help. Losing her, especially to something treatable, would be devastating.

Any amount is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read.
