Hi. My name is Rolf Wilkinson. You might know me from Tin Cup Serenade, the Pleasure Palace, and other musical entertainment ensembles.
I’m writing you today to ask for your support for my good friend Larry Leight. Larry is in quite a pickle you see. Bit of a jam. A head-lock of sizeable proportions.
For many of us, the universe provides. It sets us up well, allows us to do our thing, provides for us in all kinds of beautiful ways. But for others, the current guides the proverbial canoe into choppy waters. Basically, Larry is in a raging whirlpool, pulling in a downward direction.
That said, as many of you know, the universe did provide Larry with a particularly sweet musical voice and a heart of 24 carat gold. This is what has drawn me and many others to him.
Unfortunately, this call for help is still a pretty tough sell. It’s hard to put some sizzle on the sale. You won’t be helping save narwhals. You won’t be helping find some ever elusive cure. You’ll be helping pay for a lawyer.

By helping Larry, you’ll be supporting the purest form of music there is. This isn’t supporting a recording, or a venue, or even a particular project. You’ll be helping the maker of the music get back to what he was called upon this earth to do, and that is to create otherworldly beauty out of air (with a little help from some brass, and some strong lungs).
Yes, if you know Larry, you might know something of the litany of difficulties over the years that has fed that trombone melody that we all hold so dear. The whirlpool just keeps on sucking, and you are waiting for the happy ending. I personally would have crushed up like an autumn buttercup long ago. But Larry is fortunately pretty tough.
But even with all this, the hardest one has been his divorce, and the legal ball and chain that has been dragging him down ever since. I swear I’ll ask you for money soon. Just stay with me now.
Basically for 8 years his ex has had a lawyer friend with a personal vendetta against Larry, and they have been maintaining constant research on Larry and everything to do with his life, and bringing a near constant litany of legal woes upon him. And Larry hasn’t, all this time, been able to afford a lawyer, and so he has been at their mercy.
I won’t get into the details of all the madness. I mean, they would probably start chasing me for the rest of my life just for writing this. They’re that crazy.
But basically, they’ve got Larry’s head in the legal vice, and they’re turning the screws in a way that is terrible to watch. And that has led to the creation of this GoFundMe campaign.
There is hope you see. Because his ex and her handy lawyer friend had Larry in a legal rope-a-dope for so long, they got a little reckless and brought a lot of painful false claims against Larry. His ex also completely refused to comply with court orders. At that time, Larry just didn’t have a Lawyer to defend himself; but now, according to the Lawyer we’d like to hire, Larry has a very strong case, to get these people off his back.
You know that thing about heart trouble? The thing where they tell you not to be stressed? Like, you can just snap your fingers and not be stressed? So the thing is, Larry just had quintuple bypass surgery. His doctor told him to avoid stress.
You have to laugh. Laugh at how the universe provides for some, but for others the weather just shifts. And so, for those of you upon whom the sun shines most days, I beseech you, please, to open up those purse-strings. Make an investment in the purest music of the most beautiful sort.
