Vatulele TC Harold Appeal

Thank you to each and everyone of you that has donated generously to the Vatulele Cyclone Harold Appeal. For transparency purposes, money raised from the Appeal will be deposited to the personal account of Mr David Kikau (as Fiji is not on the list of countries for GoFundMe), who has supported Mr Kuridrani behind the scenes, in organising and promoting this campaign. Mr Kikau will remit the money via direct telegraphic transfer to the campaign organiser - Mr Inosi Kuridrani, as he resides on the main island where banks are located. Mr Kuridrani will withdraw the money and deliver the money in cheque to the Chief of Vatulele island, along with representatives from the four villages, who will meet Mr Kuridrani on the main island in Korolevu. Vatulele Island, has a bank account dedicated to their Island’s development projects and the chief and village representatives will deposit the cheque to this bank account to ensure controlled drawing of the money to priority projects in the four villages of Ekubu, Taunovo, Lomanikaya and Bouwaqa. These priority projects include, the repairing and rebuilding of infrastructure such as, water source, roads, community hall for evacuation center, school, teachers quarters etc. The money raised so far, equates to an estimated total amount of $49,000 FJD and will be prioritised as follows: •Water source - 15% ($7350) •Community Hall evacuation center - 30% ($14700) •Roads - 10% ($4900) •School building & teacher’s living quarters - 35% ($17,150) •Contingencies - 10% ($4,850) The 10% dedicated to Contingencies is to meet any cost variations and other project needs which might arise.
